ABSTRACT

Nowadays, manufacturing companies face more difficulties than ever. Unrest in global supply chains triggered by fluctuating customer demand, raw material shortages and crises (Covid pandemic, global warming, wars) complicate the utilization of production resources necessary for economic success. Also, the rapidly changing environment causes existing production plans to be adapted, which results in order changes, causing additional costs for manufacturers. One solution to cope with these problems is cooperation and sharing resources: requesting capacity from partners when having shortages and offering them temporarily in case of excess capacity. In this paper, a platform-based resource sharing mechanism is investigated from the economic perspective. In the mechanism, requests and offers are matched by a central platform applying a complex matching logic. The platform provides valid alternatives based on the incoming ordersthat the requesting company can choose from. Companies are rating each other's performance after each interaction based on delivery accuracy;choosing between resource offers is made based on the cumulated rating about the offeror and the price of the offer. Within this paper, the aim is to investigate the resource sharing mechanism from the economic point of view based on an approach to the responsiveness of a supply chain structure to turbulence, to support decision-makers trying to cope with unexpected changes. For this purpose, here the mechanism is briefly introduced, and basic concepts about turbulences in supply chains are also presented. Cost types related to resource sharing manufacturing companies are distinguished, and the model is validated with agent-based simulation. A simulation experiment is performed to investigate the use-case of outsourced jobs having different price levels. Based on the experiment, it can be concluded that there is a price level limit in such a resource sharing federation, under which it is worth it to collaborate with partners by outsourcing certain jobs to them. © 2022 Authors. ABSTRACT

The world has seen many pandemics in the past. COVID-19, SARS, and H1N1 are some of them. During the period of epidemic prevention and control, tracing the source becomes a challenge to control the disease, and contact tracing applications are developed by many countries to slow down the spread of pandemics. However, the privacy problem is becoming one of the important issues in contact tracing systems nowadays. To protect the private information for infected persons and their potential contacts in the scenario which described in our paper, the effective encryption key sharing method can be applied to contact tracing systems. In this paper, we propose a key sharing mechanism for contact tracing application, it is allows a confirmed patient to hide their sensitive information from others when send the notification messages. Our mechanism is used to achieve such a user's privacy functionality. We present the security analysis and prove the security of the mechanism. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

ABSTRACT

In order to face the requirement of distant education after covid-19, this paper has presented a cyber-physical co-existence environment for practical distance learning events, we called it as a “Co-existing Practical Environment, CPE”. CPE includes: “Holographic Wearable Device, HWD” for behavior sensing and vision sharing mechanism, cloud “Digital Twin Model, DTM” database for expert correcting variables real time, and collaborative fabrication discussion interface. We built an immersive HoloLens interface to help distance learning participators, understanding the concept of structural mechanics form morphs with mix-reality sensing, communicating the augmented information of parts of models for collaborative fabrication, and sharing the views of operation process for lecturers to solve the technical problems instantly. Furthermore, users are able to make their own custom digital twin project in CPE and optimize their fabricating process by adding more realistic material factors, operation callbacks, or analyzing their practice results in parameters relationships. This paper revised an application of holographic technology with a practical distance learning workshop as example, and discover CPE as a new kind of co-creation, cross-field, and remotely prepared cooperation mechanism. While the epidemic is still ragging, we are looking further researchers of more immersive methods for distance education. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

Under the ravages of the COVID-19, online education platform business has achieved rapid development, and excessive platform integration and the spread of paid knowledge have also spawned security problems of data sharing between platforms and users. Meanwhile, the development of Internet technology has also increased the difficulty of knowledge safeguarding rights on education platforms and cracking down on piracy. Based on the application characteristics of blockchain technology, this paper proposes a dual authentication mode of node + platform based on hash detection. Through the smart contract provided by Ethereum, data encryption linking and two-way verification between different platforms are realized. After linking to blockchain, data transmitted over the network can be protected from hacking and tampering. The research in this paper has an enlightening effect on promoting the integration development of blockchain technology and emerging industries, and also makes a specific judgment on the next integration development direction. © 2021 ACM.
